Strawberry Hill Farm Old Cassop Co Durham

Strawberry Hill Farm is located at Old Cassop in County Durham. It has all the facilites you would expect for a motorhome stop over e.g. water, electric hookup, shower block etc.

It also boasts a shop, bar and take-a-way. However these added facilities only appear to open on a weekend. Despite several tries I have been unable to secure a weekend booking so far. But I haven’t given up yet.

Unfortunately as the weather was very poor during my stay, I didn’t take any photos to allow me to add a gallery here. The plan is to correct that on my next stay.

The shower block is good and everything was clean. There is a new unfinished building in the middle of the camping area. Im guessing thats going to be a new and improved shower block, but I could be wrong.

The pitch that I was assigned was nice and level, so I didn’t need the leveling ramps. Mobile phone signal on both o2 and 3 were good, with good data coverage. Grey waste disposal was one of the best / easiest I have seen for motorhomes.

This is one of the more expensive places I have stayed, costing £29 a night (june 2024) for myself and a dog in a motorhome. If the additional facilites had been open I don’t think I would have minded the higher price. But as I stayed midweek the bar, take-a-way etc weren’t open. At a similar cost of £29 I had a great pub car park stop at the Old Oak Tree where I got a delicious Seafood Platter and 2 pints of IPA for the same cost of £29. Free stay if you buy food at the pub.
