Hook Up Cable

240V electric hook up cable (EHU) is essential for motorhomes due to the following reasons:

  1. Power Requirements:
    • Motorhomes rely on various appliances, including air conditioning units, heaters, ovens, and microwaves.
    • These appliances often operate at 240V (or similar voltages), which is the standard household voltage in many countries.
    • Having a 240V hookup cable allows you to power these devices efficiently.
  2. Compatibility with Campsite Hook ups:
    • When you park your motorhome at a campsite or caravan site, you’ll find 240V electrical hookups.
    • Using a compatible cable ensures that you can connect to these power sources without any issues.
  3. Charging Leisure Batteries:
    • Motorhomes have leisure batteries that store energy for off-grid use.
    • A 240V hook up allows you to recharge these batteries quickly, ensuring a reliable power supply during your travels.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Properly designed and rated 240V cables meet safety standards.
    • Using the correct cable reduces the risk of electrical hazards or damage to your motorhome’s electrical system.

Remember, a 240V electric hook up cable is a practical necessity for motorhome enthusiasts who want to enjoy all the comforts of home while on the road!

I’ve been using this cable for over a month now (July 2024) without issue. Obviously I only use this on campsites or other areas where a 240v supply is available. When in use, its normally because I need to charge my Ecoflow River 2 or other devices. Ideally I charge by solar to my leisure battery and top my devices up. But whilst in the UK still, I just can’t count on solar. We all know what the British weather is like.
