Canada Fields is located just west of yafforth in North Yorkshire. It’s about a 2 mile drive from Northallerton. It appears to be mainly a seasonal pitch site but does offer a few touring pitches.
The touring pitches are gravel and are quite large. They all appear to have electric hookup and fresh water. Priced at £25 a night for me and my dog in a motorhome its pretty much the average price.
The shower block is one of the cleanest I’ve seen but is deffinately the warmest with the large radiator. The one available shower (for men) is also one of the biggest I’ve experienced with a large shower area, a seated area and plenty of hooks for clothes or towels.
There is a carp lake onsite for those that like to do a bit of angling. Dog walking wise there is a large gravel track that just appears to go on for ever. I quite liked looking at the full birdsnest located just under the door to the mens shower room.
Pitches are fairly level after testing with the levelling device, so no need for the levelling ramps. The electric hookup cable was of course needed for the benefit of mains electric. Again a good chance to charge up all my power banks, for the next few days without hookup.
Booking wise, when I phoned up and was told there was a space. The owner was busy checking someone in, so said no details needed just turn up. I arrived about an hour later and check-in was very simple. If you want a cheaper but more basic option its worth checking out Sentry Circle Camping.
I am thinking that this will be another place to add to my favourites list. I would happily come back any time.
